As Champions for Change, please keep in mind the following nuggets of wisdom:

  • We are not perfect, so things will not be perfect in this DEI&B space. It will not always be what we wish it to be, but it can be what is needed by working together and not giving up hope that things can change.
  • Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better (Maya Angelou).
  • To those accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression (RBG).
  • Look for as many opportunities as possible to do more good than hurt or harm.
  • Intent versus impact; there IS a powerful difference that we must always be mindful of, in all ways.  
  • Dimming the light of others will never make yours shine brighter in a sustainable way.
  • How you show up in this world can make a difference, even when you’re not aware of it. So, act accordingly.

I wish you all the joy your hearts can stand. Please take time to be good to yourselves, each other, our communities, and the world. I will pray that God’s Blessings continue to shower your BEING, because you matter.
